Why Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

Pelvic Health concerns are far too frequent and hardly ever spoke about. Many men and women go through it silently without knowing that there are practical, evidence-based treatment methods available. We want to help bridge the gap for patients in Bloor West Village, Oakville and Toronto to find a Registered Physiotherapist that has the post graduate certifications and training to improve their quality of life. Our physiotherapists at PhysioDNA are certified in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy which can include internal or external examinations of the pelvic area depending on the individual client.

  • What is the Pelvic Floor

The pelvic floor is comprised of a group of deep pelvic floor muscles that attach in the pelvic region (including the pelvic bone, sit bones-ischial tuberosities and the tailbone-sacrum).

    The Pelvic floor helps to:

    1. Support organs such as the bladder, uterus and rectum
    2. Control the urethral, vaginal and rectal opening (ie. assist with preventing leakage from these openings)
    3. Provide tone, blood flow and lymphatic flow
    4. Support the hips and low back

**Our services are covered by Extended Health benefits (all of our locations directly bill to insurance companies)
