PhysioDNA was established by 2 healthcare providers that recognized the relevance in combining traditional physiotherapy with manual techniques and physical movement. While the average person typically seeks our services when they are injured, hurt and experiencing pain, we believe strongly in the benefit of prevention and are experienced in highlighting ‘potentially problematic’ areas.

Priya Maloni

Priya graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Physiotherapy (2008) and a Bachelor of Exercise Science specialized in Clinical Exercise Physiology (High Distinction, 2006). Priya has completed courses in Active Release Techniques (ART) for Spine and Upper Extremity, Level 1 Naturopathic Medicine (AFCI) and Level 1 Manual Therapy. She enjoys learning and continues to take courses to advance her clinical and industry skills. Priya believes strongly in prevention, maintenance and empowering her patients to lead healthy lifestyles and take an active part in their care.

Mario Causevic

CLINIC DIRECTOR: REHAB EXERCISE, MOVEMENT SPECIALIST, FASCIAL STRETCH THERAPIST

Mario is a Level 3 Fascial Stretch Specialist and movement therapist who specializes working with patients who suffer from chronic and acute pain/stiffness due to injury and postural muscle imbalances in their bodies. He applies his expertise in fascial stretch therapy and rehab exercise to tackle each patients injuries and imbalances with a unique personalized approach. With over 10 years of experience, Mario’s goal has been to change the traditional way that rehabilitation therapy has been approached in the industry. For Mario it is very important to personalize and modify each patients treatment plan. Identifying postural dysfunctions and mobility restrictions while creating a safe individualized exercise program to improve muscle imbalances, prevent future injuries and movement deficiencies.

Carolyn is a Physiotherapy Resident who graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters in Physical Therapy (2020) and completed her Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Kinesiology at Queen’s University (2018).

Kendyl graduated from Queen’s University with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy (2018), and a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology from Acadia University (2016). Kendyl has completed her Level 1 Manual Therapy Exam, and is looking forward to continuing education in manual therapy and other courses. Kendyl was the student therapist for the Acadia Women’s Basketball and Rugby teams from 2014-2016 and enjoys continuing to work with athletes. Kendyl strives to provide individualized patient centred care, focusing on the prevention, treatment, and life-long management of health and injuries.

Dr. Sundeep Sandher’s interest in building a healthier community led him to complete an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. He continued on this path and completed his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Dr. Sandher’s treatment focuses on an evidence based approach to clinical practice. He is dedicated to alleviating pain, improving patient function, and optimizing performance. Dr. Sandher is interested in continuing education and has completed courses in Shift Concussion Management. He is passionate about sports and is currently the team doctor for Northern Lions Football Club.

Sammy graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science. He began his career as a personal trainer but since then has focused on rehabilitation and pain-free movement. Sammy uses a combination of Fascial Stretch Therapy, Functional Range System methods and Oxygen Advantage methods to rehabilitate and restore pain-free movement and healthy breathing mechanics. Sammy looks at human health as a complex and dynamic system. This system is comprised of different interdependent parts including lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, physical training, mindset, and recovery. Proper management of these parts facilitates one to achieve their full human potential. He continues to grow his knowledge as a coach in all these subjects so that he can better serve the people he trains. He works with a diverse group of clients from the general population including children, the elderly and athletes.

Kelly has an honours degree in Physical Education from Brock University and combines her passion for teaching with her skills as a therapist to empower her clients to achieve long-term results. As a certified Fascial Stretch Therapist, Exercise Therapist and Functional Mobility Specialist, she uses a variety of approaches to develop individualized plans based on the unique needs and goals of each client. She continues to take courses to expand her knowledge and experience and is excited to join the collaborative team of manual and movement therapists at PhysioDNA!

Irina graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science and after 3 years in medical sales, she found her true passion. Health and fitness, connecting to others through movement and helping them realize their true potential. Through group classes and community events, one-on-one sessions, social media and online training, Irina strives to motivate others to live their healthiest lives. With 8 years as a personal trainer and a background in yoga, holistic nutrition and natural health, she is able to offer a more holistic approach when working towards her clients’ fitness goals. Her goal is to ensure clients are pain free, educated and empowered when it comes to their bodies and the way they move. Movement is medicine and Irina’s mission is to ensure her clients are moving pain free and feel empowered mentally and physically!

Julian graduated from Mohawk college with his Massage Therapy diploma and also has a Fitness and Health promotions diploma. He has completed additional modalities in Active Release Therapy for the lower extremity and is planning on furthering his education in the future with Acupuncture as well as Concussion management. He is the process of completing his PICP level 1 performance specialist certification and strives to incorporate fitness and movement into his treatment and to develop strength and functionality in his clients.

Dr. Commisso is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in Ontario with a focus in women’s health, stress and digestive concerns. She has a passion for balancing hormones, helping women reduce their PMS and regulate their periods, reduce their menopausal symptoms, increase their energy levels and ease stress through dietary and lifestyle changes, high quality supplementation and acupuncture. She provides education to her patients in order for them to leave each appointment feeling empowered and confident in reaching their health goals. Dr. Commisso is also certified in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture and Dermatologic Acupuncture.

Dr. Stephanie Trgachef completed her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with honours at the University of Toronto. In 2019, Dr. Trgachef ND graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). She is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors. Her specialized areas of treatment include hormonal disorders, gastrointestinal disturbances, metabolic syndrome and mental health.

 Dr. Stephanie Trgachef believes in developing personalized treatment plans with a preventative, evidence based approach to health care, where identifying and treating the root cause of illness takes precedence.

Keshia King

REGISTERED KINESIOLOGIST / FASCIAL STRETCH THERAPIST (LEVEL 2) / MOVEMENT SPECIALIST

Keshia is a Level 2 Fascial Stretch Therapist and Registered Kinesiologist with a passion for movement and mobility. She graduated from Durham College for Fitness & Health Promotion (2011) as well as the University Of Ontario Institute Of Technology (2015) where she majored in kinesiology. In school, she found her passion of helping people and being in an active environment by participating in a student athletic trainer internship. After school, Keshia continued her learning through various courses such as Fascial Stretching, Low Back Pain Specialist and Animal Flow.

She believes in the principle of strengthening and lengthening for the body! This combined with a  balance of mobility, muscle activation, and proper form through resistance training and movement can help with healing current injuries, preventing re-injury as well as any future incidents.

Aleks graduated from the University of Guelph-Humber with a Kinesiology degree in 2015. He began his career as a personal trainer but recognized that many of his clients had old injuries and dysfunctional movement patterns that needed to be fixed before they could reach their full fitness potential. This realization led him to his true passion in the field of rehabilitation and now he works to help individuals recover from injuries, live pain-free lives and get back to doing the activities they love. He helps his clients achieve these rehabilitative goals through exercise, improving range of motion and optimizing healthy movement patterns. Aleks is always striving to learn more about the human body and has continued his education with various courses, such as FST level 1, and is currently in his 2nd term of Registered Massage Therapy School at Sutherland-Chan.
