Custom Orthotics can be an integral part of your injury management, your sports performance, or added comfort to your daily walk. At PhysioDNA, our team is dedicated to providing you with the highest quality custom orthotic that fits your feet and shoes perfectly. We understand that everyone’s feet are unique and conventional off the shelf insoles do not take into account your body type, daily activities, and movement goals.
Our experienced therapists will conduct a thorough assessment of your foot, your gait pattern, and your daily activities to determine which type of orthotic would be best for your lifestyle. Historically, orthotics were constructed using a foam casting box to make an impression of your foot, which were often time-consuming and tedious. We offer custom orthotics crafted with cutting-edge 3D scanning technology to capture intricate details of your foot structure to ensure a precise and comfortable fit for your unique foot. It also allows us to have a digital record of your foot, allowing for a seamless process for future orthotic needs or adjustments rather than requiring repeat scans. It is quick, easy, and non-invasive so we can tailor your custom orthotics to your needs.
Invest in your feet and experience the difference of custom orthotics with our 3D scanning technology at PhysioDNA. Contact us today to schedule an appointment in downtown Toronto or Oakville to take a step towards better comfort and performance!
It is important to note that custom orthotics are not for everyone. Our consultations are complimentary sessions where you will meet the therapists and a discussion can be had on how best to manage your challenges and see what solutions are best for your needs.
At PhysioDNA we look at the whole person and tailor your solution accordingly. Our experienced therapists care about how you are walking, what your daily routine is (if you are standing or sitting regularly), what your work life is like and more. If you have used orthotics in the past, we will not just blindly copy old orthotics but look with a fresh set of eyes how your feet have changed over the years and what some of your goals are, if you are in pain, have stiffness, or just want to take a preventative approach to your foot health.
The company we use for creating your custom orthotics. At PhysioDNA we use the latest technologies to ensure as a client you are receiving the best product available on the market. PhysioDNA has partnered with Orthogenics Laboratories 3D Laser Specialists. The company is a pedorthist-owned and operated lab that has been providing custom-made orthotics to clinics since 2014. They have a 50 years of combined experience in the industry, and dedicated to providing our customers with the best possible service and products. PhysioDNA is proud to be a partner with such a reputable company.
If you have flat feet, high arches, or any other foot conditions like arthritis and plantar fasciitis, you may need custom orthotics. Our therapists will be able to provide you with specifics on what kind of custom orthotics you may need, depending on your condition.
Our podiatrists at PhysioDNA will take a three-dimensional picture of each foot to determine whether custom orthotics are necessary. We will use those photos together with the right measurements to construct a custom pair of orthotics that will improve your foot function, increase your comfort and provide you with better mobility.
The average time to create custom orthotics is between 4 and 6 weeks.
Although it is okay to wash your custom orthotics, our therapists recommend that you avoid immersing them in water entirely. Hand wash your orthotics using warm water, a small amount of soap, and a moist cloth rather than putting them in the washing machine with other clothing.
Custom orthotics are frequently interchangeable across shoes that are similar in design. For instance, your walking or hiking shoes should be able to accommodate the orthotic designed for your running shoes. On the other hand, a custom orthotic could not fit or function as well in dress shoes, sandals, skates, or skis.
Orthotics should not be painful to use while running, leaping, or walking on a daily basis. However, there will be some getting used to during the first few wears. Even though there shouldn’t be any pain on the initial use, breaking in new orthotics usually causes some discomfort.
